This radio REQUIRES a Windows PC with a Firewire interface running SmartSDR software to operate. SmartSDR for Windows v1.7.30 is available free of charge on. An FCC Amateur Radio license is required to operate this radio. What is included in this sale. The Flex 5000A transceiver with the OPTIONAL second receiver- pictured. The 115V-230V switched mode DC power supply that powers the radio – pictured. The latching PPT footswitch that puts the radio into transmit mode – pictured. A PC Firewire card that fits in a PC like mine (Dell Inspirion running Windows 7) not pictured. A Firewire cable to hook the Flex 5000A to the PC card. The original FlexRadio Systems box that the 5000A came in. The rack, screen, software, manuals, and ancillary gear shown in the one photo are NOT included in the sale. All written documentation for this system is on the FlexRadio web site and is NOT included in the sale. This radio has only ONE known problem. When in transmit mode there are THREE amplifier relay RCA jacks on the rear panel. These are used to trigger linear amplifiers and similar gear. One of them (TX2) does not work, TX1 and TX3 work fine. I believe this is a single transistor repair, but I will leave it to the next owner. This radio has DUAL receivers, which was an expensive option, but not the auto antenna tuner.
