Heathkit HW-101 SSB/CW transceiver covering 80 through 10 meters. Powered it on using a Heathkit HP-23B and tested on both receive and transmit. The HP-23B is not included. The 11 pin power cable on the back is included. The manual has the original owner’s call sign (WD0CFH) written on the cover and the assembly check marks are filled in throughout. Great resource if you plan to restore or align this unit. All tubes are in place inside. Internals are clean and with no signs of burned components or sloppy modifications. A Heathkit Electronic Center service sticker on the rear panel dated 8-2-77 shows this unit was professionally maintained during its working life. Rear panel has an SO-239 antenna jack, CW key jack, 8 ohm speaker jack, ALC, spare, and ground terminals. Requires an external power supply such as the Heathkit HP-23A, HP-23B, HP-23C, or equivalent.

The Heathkit HW-101 SSB Transceiver is a vintage base station radio model from the Heathkit brand. The transceiver comes in a distinctive green color and is untested, making it suitable for parts or repair. I’ve included pictures of the inside board. All vacuum tubes and electrical components appear to be in place. Knobs and dials turn freely. Should be usable for parts or troubleshooting to power up if you are able. This is from an estate sale and I have not tested it. It measures 15″ wide x 13″ deep x 7 high without the foot pegs.

Heathkit HW-101 Transceiver Receives in transmits with good output power as seen in photos with MFJ want me to connect, full power on 80, 40, 20 and 15 m band is on the 10 m bands which there are four separate ones starting with 28 MHz to 29.5 the first two bands 28 and 28 five the output is less than on the other bands 60 to 70 W and then drops on the last ladt 10 m bands only putting out about 30 W, on the ladt 10 m band its around 20. Also, when you tuning the transceiver with a loading and final controls, you have to hold the inner knob while turning the final tends to move not a big deal. You just have to hold it so you’re tuning them separately. Otherwise it receives good and transmit good on all the other bands so you’re not receiving a dead radio side band sounds pretty good. Doesn’t Come with Power Supply You will need the power supply and the interface canle for the power supply. Also does not come with microphone or CW key. Set includes transceiver and VFO. Tubes appear present in transceiver. Plug chords have some worn areas. Cosmetically, both units show signs of where with multiple scratches and abrasions and smudges. VFO meter is missing the function knob see pictures.
