This is a nice ICOM model # SM-8 Base Station Desk Microphone from a local Ham Radio Operator’s Estate. I tested it on an ICOM IC-761 HF SSB Transceiver, and received excellent audio reports. It will change frequencies of some of the ICOM transceivers, using the UP or DOWN buttons. There are controls on the underside of the base for gain, tone and level. The SM-8 can select between two different radios, if an additional cable is connected inside the base and using the correct mic plug. This SM-8 has just one cable currently wired, so the microphone LINE switch just works with one radio, and switching to the second position disconnects the mic from the radio. There are PTT and LOCK PTT buttons. Drives the BIG amps real nice. I get great audio reports from Europe on it all the time. People that have them love them. Many contest stations love them. Very nice clean working FT-1000D up for sale. Has many of the mods done to it. Rcvr Mod, Keyclick and noiseblanker mod, Inrad roofing Filter Mod. Up to 200watts output. Also has BFP-1 bandpass filter installed in back. Two receivers built in and nice for chasing DX. Has issue with 15 meter and 17 meter band switch till its warms up for 5 mins. All other bands no problems. Someone might know what. Cause that on 15 and 17. Its no big deal for me since it works fine after warmed up. Doesn’t happen all the time when you turn it on. Use it every week. Maybe work you on 40 meters with it sometime. If you are near me in Bradenton, Fla just below Tampa you can check it out and take it back home with you. You will love it.
