It appears to be used very little. The original battery pack was dead and would not charge and needed to be rebuilt. The internal memory battery was also dead and had to be replaced. This radio is now ready for service. It is truly a classic with the original display box, antenna, charger, external microphone, users manual, and the original sales slip. Own a piece of history that you can still use everyday.

CatDisplay232 is an external screen that plugs into the Yaesu RS232 CAT port, it requests data from the transceiver, detects & decodes changes, then updates the display. CatDisplay232 is reliant on the way Yaesu updates the CAT data. Some changes you see on the transceiver screen or make with its keys and knobs, are not instantly updated via CAT. In these cases, you will notice a delay in CatDisplay screen updates & sometimes an item may not update until band or mode has changed. All features work with FT-991A. Not all features are supported by the other models indicated because they are generally older and either the CAT command did not exist or their hardware did not support the feature. I appreciate your custom & patience. An easy to connect external display for Yaesu FT-817 & FT-817ND. LEFT or RIGHT cat cable entry. Heads Up Display mode so you can view via a reflective surface. CatDisplay plugs into the transceiver CAT port. It reads data from the transceiver, detects & decodes any changes then updates the display. As you change modes, the CatDisplay changes the information shown. At a glance, you instantly see important settings for the current mode. Ideal for the visually impaired. Light, easy to connect, easy to use. Vastly improves your rig experience. Makes a complicated transceiver easier to use. Less searching through menus, less chance of forgetting. Simple plug-and-play installation, automatically detects Cat speed. Ideal for rigs suffering from failing LCD – missing lines & segments. This version is for FT-817 transceivers that only have 15 bands (models that do not have the 60m band). It will work on models that have the 60m band (FT-818ND) but as you move up the band past 40m, the reported band display is out by 1. CatDisplay reads information from the transceiver only. It does not write information to the transceiver and cannot be used to control the transceiver. Unlike computer programs & other displays that control the transceiver, CatDisplay will not cause EEPROM wear and will therefore not cause damage to the transceiver. Does not have a CAT pass through port so you cannot plug another device into the CatDisplay. Transceiver must be in VFO mode to reliably read many settings. CTCSS, DCS, memory tags, extended memory functions and other less frequently used features are not displayed. Some changes on the transceiver do not show up immediately because the transceiver does not update its EEPROM immediately. This is a function of Yaesu control program and not CatDisplay. Does not show SWR, but does have high SWR indicator, output power & modulation meters. Cat cable has pins in its plugs & they only go in one way. Do not force them or you will break the plug, socket or both. The TFT display is fragile and can be broken. Treat it with respect, do not place it in direct sunlight, do not squeeze or press on it. High RF fields may cause interference. If the display becomes corrupted during transmit, this is likely due to high RF field which needs to be remedied. The most common cause is poor earth connection, high antenna SWR or very close proximity to the antenna. Lefever in Belgium are a very early version of CatDisplay hardware and firmware & will not be supported by me. The latest hardware is v1.441 and firmware is v2.
