Ranger Mirage MX36HP6 – 60-Watt High-Power 10-Meter Radio in a Cobra-29-Size Chassis. The MX36HP6 builds on the MX36HP3 platform with more power, a new faceplate, and an upgraded SRA198 noise-canceling microphone – all while keeping the same compact footprint that fits directly into Cobra-29 dash and overhead slots. Truckers love it because it installs cleanly without cutting, and hobbyists love it because it delivers serious punch in a small chassis. If you want to use it as a CB, please see the FAQs below. ? What’s Included. Ranger Mirage MX36HP6 Radio Premium SRA198 Noise-Canceling Microphone Power cord Mounting bracket + hardware. ? Why This Model Stands Out. The Ranger Mirage MX36HP3 10 Meter Radio is a classic Cobra 29 size ham radio transceiver that operates within the 10 Meter frequency range of 28 to 29 MHz. With the trusted brand of Ranger, this radio is designed for reliable communication in the hobby of ham and amateur radio. Variable RF Power Control. S/RF/SWR Front Panel Meter. 4 Pin Front Mic. Original Mirage Receive Circuit. Variable Talk Back & Echo. Cool Blue LED Channel Display. SRA-198 Noise Canceling Mic Included. What’s in the box. Radio, Microphone, Power cord, Mounting bracket with hardware. Is this a CB? No, it is a 10 meter radio. The Citizens Band is limited to 4 watts and operates on the 11 meter band per FCC regulations. If you see “10 meter radio” on a listing, it is not a CB. Is it peaked and tuned? All ham radios are “peaked” by the qualified engineers who design them. A radio hack without an engineering degree and radio design experience cannot improve on this, though they can alter the radio for higher output wattage. But this overdrives the transistors, causing distortion and overheating. Not a good thing to do. There is no additional tuning required. Why the ALL CAPS for mosfet? Because MOSFET is an acronym, and in English acronyms are spelled in all caps. MOSFET stands for Metal Oxide Field Effect Transistor. This is not a new technology. It has evolved and improved over time. Some radio buyers obsess over what kind of transistor is used in the finals, based on something they read or their buddy told them. MOSFET isn’t the only way to achieve the design engineers’ goals, but this technology is often chosen. We get this question quite a bit. It is illegal to sell a converted radio, and it also violates the TOS of any online marketplace to do so. If the listing says 10 meter and it says NEW condition, then it has not been converted. And the title would also need to say 11 meter not 10 meter. We hope that helps you get around the confusion this issue causes.

If you are looking for a high-performance rack mountable ham radio, look no further. The rack-mountable Ranger RCI 69 FFC6 puts out an astounding 450W due to its 8 RT6 Final Output MOSFETs. In addition to long-range, crystal clear output it has a newly designed receiver that is picks up and cleans up even very weak signals. This heavy-duty transceiver is engineered for operators who demand exceptional range, clean audio, and stable performance during long sessions on the air. Its rack-mountable chassis makes it ideal for structured base-station setups where reliability and organization matter. This is typically not applicable as a mobile radio, due to the power draw needed to produce the 600W output. The RCI-69FFC6 requires a dedicated high-amperage 13.8V DC power supply and is far too powerful for a typical vehicle electrical system. Before ordering for use as a mobile radio, ensure your electrical system can support this radio. It must supply 50W for the radio alone, plus support the other electrical loads imposed upon it. And some provision for ventilating all the heat coming of those 8 MOFETS must be made if this is installed in a dash. If you are operating in a fairly remote location where interference is nigh impossible and wish to use it as a CB, see our FAQs below. Large farms or pasturelands. Large manufacturing plant maintenance and operations e. Paper mills, auto plants, appliance plants. 450 Watts PEP Output – Massive transmit power for long-distance communication. Rack-Mountable Design – Fits cleanly into base-station racks and bench setups. 8 MOSFET Final Transistors – High-efficiency, high-durability output stage. Enhanced Cooling System – Internal fan and vented top cover for thermal stability. High-Stability Receiver – Improved drift control and excellent weak-signal performance. Operator Controls – Variable RF power, talkback, echo, NB/ANL, roger beep, and more. Power Requirements (Important). A dedicated high-current 13.8V DC power supply capable of supplying a steady 50A without overheating. A dedicated negative wire (do not use chassis ground as the negative terminal). Good ventilation for the unit itself. It is not compatible with most truck or vehicle electrical systems, but is compatible with such systems if they have been suitably modified or designed to handle this kind of load. ? What’s Included. Ranger RCI-69FFC6 Transceiver (Brand New). Another way of seeing the list of main features. Uses Ranger RT6 MOSFET transistors, for super clear output. Louvered top cover for air flow. Variable RF Power Control. Variable Talk Back Control. Fine + Coarse Variable SSB Clarifier. White LED channel and frequency display. 6 Digit Frequency Counter. Roger Beep With Switch. 4 pin mic jack. Additional rear cooling fan. Mic, power cord, and mounting accessories included.
