This is a SWAN 350 HF (80/40/20/15/10-Meters bands,) Ham Radio Transceiver, from a local Amateur Radio operator’s Estate. It requires an external AC Power Supply, like the SWAN model 117, 117XC, etc. Or a mobile power supply for operation. It also requires a microphone, CW Key, speaker or headphones and antenna. None are supplied – Only the Transceiver as shown in the pictures, with an original SWAN 350 Operation and Maintenance manual. Like most SWAN products, the Instruction manual is available for free on-line download, if you’d like more information, and I’ve taken a picture of the Specifications page. Companion SWAN accessories like power supplies, microphones, VOX units, linear amplifiers, etc. Since I don’t have a Power Supply, no testing has been done and i. Due to previous problems with “parts swappers” yes, that’s actually happened to me! This SWAN 350 appears to be in good physical condition, as you can see in the attached pictures. This transceiver looks great, with the only real exception being a dent on the side of the cabinet. The display is nice and bright. It operates beautifully, pulling in a strong signal and transmitting with full power. Keep in mind that this is a pre-WARC band radio, so it’s receive-only on 10/18/24MHz. We’re including a genuine Icom HM-23 hand mic, but you’ll need to supply your own power cable. We have some high quality (made in USA) cables available for sale here. I used the radio with a PS-30 that I use regularly with other rigs in the “shack”, so I do not have an extra power cord to sell with this item. I have tested it both on transmit and receive on all bands and actively used it on 75 and 40 meters using dipoles. I made contacts with it to our local Iowa 75-meter (3.970) net as well as on 40 meters to Texas. Signal reports were good. It indicates 100 watts output to my dummy load. Both pilot lamps, the one over the s-meter and tuning dial, work. The digital read-out is working as designed and clear and bright. It does have the folding tilt stand. It DOES have the optional CW filter. It only shows minor scratches on the bezel and cabinet and some minor oxidation on the cabinet. It does not appear to ever have been used in a mobile application. The one deficiency operationally in the rig is, if you happen to turn the rig on while it is in CW mode, it tends to pin the S-meter and not receive. It is not, however, transmitting at that time which is reassuring. If you seldom operate CW it’s likely you will never notice this issue. Physically, the radio is in good condition for its age showing some wear. There are a few areas that show some scuffs and other marks but overall the radio looks very clean! Used RF generator on all bands to test receive signal strength. All controls and lamps work! The radio requires the Collins 516F-2 power supply and external speaker for operation (not included). This not often seen QRP 80-10 meter SSB/CW transceiver that has been sitting on a shelf unused for 20+ years and now starting to sell off my collection as shown. I carried it back from England on one of my many trips. Original knobs, crisp lettering, excellent front panel, clear dial numbers, RIT and includes the manual. The cabinet is not damaged or modified and the original finish is excellent with a few minor marks. It is compact, 7”w x11” D x5” H and very well built. You will need a 12 volt power supply and mic, not included. A DC power cable is included. On a 20′ indoor wire 40/20 SSB/CW sounded good midday…. On transmit I had 10w on 80/40, 8 watts on 20m. 7 watts on 15m but only 2 watts on 10m… Thanks for looking, Gary.
