Up for your consideration is a Yaesu FT-897. Radio receives (see below) and transmits. Radio has an issue with the receive while receiving you can hear stations but in there is what sounds like static crashing? This static crashing noise happens every few seconds. I opened package and powered unit up to make sure it is operational. I can attest to the fact that the box and plastic bags inside were unopened and it was stored in a dry location. Plastic still over screen and unit looks to be in flawless condition. Box may show some signs of wear but not much. The bottom side of the FT-897 contains a power source tray which can accommodate up to two of the optional 13.2 Volt, 4500 mAh FNB-78 Ni-MH Battery Packs, for completely portable operation without any external power source. Maximum power output is 20 Watts (all bands) during battery operation, and with two FNB-78s you may expect up to eight hours of operating time (TX 5%, RX 5%, standby 90%). This listing is for a really nice almost mint Yaesu FT-897D HF/VHF/UHF transceiver 100% fully functional in a Pelican 1520 case. The transceiver has both the 500Hz CW and the SSB filters installed and two 4500MaH internal batteries for portable operation. Power output is 100W reduced to 20W when operating from internal batteries. Also included are the Tenergy battery charger, the regular DC power cord and a LDG Z-11 Pro tuner. All you need to add is your own antenna to have a complete portable emergency station. The tuner can be powered from a 12 volt source with the included cable or from eight AA internal batteries (not included, see last photo). No manual or instructions are included.
