This 820 is in fair-to-good cosmetic condition. The cabinet has some scuffs and scratches, but the faceplate looks great and even the leather handle is in good shape. It’s transmitting with 100 watts out, however the VFO is drifting all over the place. The controls are a little scratchy, but that can be resolved with a blast of electrical contact cleaner. The sale includes an AC cord, but please note that a microphone is not included in the sale. Rest assured, you’ll receive your item on time and in excellent condition! But is it worth it? Physical condition as the pictures show. Missing some case screws. Clean inside as pictures show. The last picture shows a segment in the display missing on the far right hand digit, THIS IS A PHOTOGRAPHY ANOMOLY! The display is clean, bright and complete! Serial number is a later (newer) radio at 14144 (yes, they made lots of these because people loved them and they worked so well). I made contacts on 40M, 20M and 17M CW and SSB. Includes DC power cable. Manual is a free download from the web. Works fine for what I tried, the usual caveats – this is a 30+ year old used radio, so there MAY be some adjustments or cleaning of pots, switches, etc that YOU MAY want to do. Scratchy pots, switches, tuning adjustments or other minor imperfections in operation do NOT constitute a return for “not as described” or “defective”. WATTMETER/TUNER IS NOT INCLUDED (this was used to show power output). On manual page 23, ICOM shows that this “green wire” must be cut to enable WARC band transmit. Rod noticed my dilemma and wrote to me to advise of this simple factory enabling mod.
