This radio does not have the internal antenna tuner. Recently changed the backup battery & display light, and added a fan for extra cooling. The receive in this radio is excellent, a most enjoyable radio to use. Has the MARS mod done (externally done with keypad). The mic works best when the mic gain is at about 50%, it is almost like an amplified mic. If you turn the mic gain up to 100% and it will over-modulate.
