This is a Heathkit HW-9 QRP Transceiver with WARC band option installed. The transceiver is in good physical and working condition. The HW-9 works well on all bands, and receives with a minimum discernible signal of. 2 uV or better on all bands (tested with an HP 8648B signal generator). The receiver covers the 80, 40, 30, 20, 17, 15, 12, and 10 meter bands (3.5-3.75, 7-7.25, 10-10.25, 14-14.25, 18-18.25, 21-21.25, 24.75-25, and 28-28.25 MHz). Heathkit specifies output power of at least 4 watts on all bands except for 10 meters, which is 3 watts. I measured the maximum output into a dummy load (with a power supply at about 13.7 volts): it was 8.5 watts on 80 and 40 meters, 7W on 30 and 20 meters, 6W on 17 and 15 meters, 4.3W on 12 meters, and 3.5W on 10 meters. The one issue I have noticed is that there is some backlash in the VFO tuning. I don’t have a paper manual, but will include a CD with the manual for the HW-9 and PSA-9 in PDF format, plus other information about improvements that can be made to the HW-9 and PSA-9. The rig is currently only 15-20-40-80 meter capable and operates on those bands as it should, both transmit and receive. The WARC Band Kit (which also includes 10m) is not installed but I do have that complete kit of parts and they are included in the sale. A full set of manuals/large drawings for both the rig and the WARC Band Kit are also included as is a DC power cord terminated with an Anderson power pole connector. I tested the rig on all four bands and made a video of it on 20m where I work the TX7T DXpedition currently on the air from the Marquesas Islands – see my website (AE5X).
