Physical condition as the pictures show. Missing some case screws. Clean inside as pictures show. The last picture shows a segment in the display missing on the far right hand digit, THIS IS A PHOTOGRAPHY ANOMOLY! The display is clean, bright and complete! Serial number is a later (newer) radio at 14144 (yes, they made lots of these because people loved them and they worked so well). I made contacts on 40M, 20M and 17M CW and SSB. Includes DC power cable. Manual is a free download from the web. Works fine for what I tried, the usual caveats – this is a 30+ year old used radio, so there MAY be some adjustments or cleaning of pots, switches, etc that YOU MAY want to do. Scratchy pots, switches, tuning adjustments or other minor imperfections in operation do NOT constitute a return for “not as described” or “defective”. WATTMETER/TUNER IS NOT INCLUDED (this was used to show power output). On manual page 23, ICOM shows that this “green wire” must be cut to enable WARC band transmit. Rod noticed my dilemma and wrote to me to advise of this simple factory enabling mod. This transceiver looks great, with the only real exception being a dent on the side of the cabinet. The display is nice and bright. It operates beautifully, pulling in a strong signal and transmitting with full power. Keep in mind that this is a pre-WARC band radio, so it’s receive-only on 10/18/24MHz. We’re including a genuine Icom HM-23 hand mic, but you’ll need to supply your own power cable. We have some high quality (made in USA) cables available for sale here. You can find cheaper cables online, but they won’t be anywhere near this quality. Ensure the equipment will meet your needs. Ensure you know how to operate it. Ensure it will work with your existing equipment. We’re happy to answer a questions if you’re stuck, but we ask that you do your due diligence. ICOM IC-730 Multi Band 100 Watt HF Ham Radio Tranceiver – Box and Radio only. The IC-730 powered right up. Good reception on all bands that had activity. All the function switches on the front panel seem to operating properly. Just needs a little cleaning. I attached a key and on 40 meters the radio output was just above 100 watts CW on my watt meter. Good tone, clean break in. I used the mic off of my bench IC-718 and transmitted on LSB. Worked, good clean signal. Just the transceiver and power cord. Enhancements include: dual digital VFOs, and noise blanker. The advanced, quad conversion receiver section includes selectable AGC and a preamp. You get one memory per band. Frequency coverage is: 3.5-4, 7-7.3, 10-10.5 (receive), 14-14.35, 18-18.5, 21-21.45, 24.5-25 and 28-29.7 MHz. There is a built-in speaker in the top panel. Features an SO-239 antenna jack, speaker jack, 1/4 inch key jack and accessory port. On the top panel allows for additional radio settings and installation of optional EX-195. This radio requires 13.8 VDC at 20 Amps. There could be other issues with the unit that are yet to be discovered. Will require maintenance sooner or later.
