This is why many sellers as well as myself list in this manner. You will see many restored, or perfectly working radios and equipment listed as “for parts or non-working”. My ham license is W3OWE. If I describe an item as working, it is. If I describe it as untested, then it is truly is untested. If it needs repair, I will describe it as such. NOW FOR THE IMPORTANT STUFF. This rig was my first amateur set up. With so much gear, I very rarely ever use this set so I figure it’s time to put it up for sale. I also want to add that the infamous dots syndrome with the VFO read out was professionally repaired, about seven years ago. Many of the radios on the market today have not been repaired and it’s only a matter of time before it happens. This has been properly corrected. Being offered is a fully operational transceiver, antenna tuner, power supply, and astatic d104 mic. This set is performing to spec. The RF OUTPUT IS TO SPEC. Kenwood TS-440S Amateur HF Transceiver & PS-50 Power Supply Tested. Has antenna tuner option. Great shape except for some scratches on top (my fault) from bringing it home with a bunch of other stuff. I was suprised to find this and a linear in the lot that looked relatively unused. There was no mic, I bought the included one to test it. Everything seems to be working. Tested the receiver with a homebrew dipole and tested the transmitter into a dummy load so I didnt actually transmit over the air and make a contact. The telewave wattmeter and dummy load are not included.

These three units came from an estate sale. All three pieces were a bit dusty, and sadly, the microphone was not included, so minimal testing could be done on the transceiver. The unit powered on, and the controls that we could check, such as tuning and the scan mode did work. The meter and display work fine as shown as well. Was not tested, nor was the antenna tuner tested either. We kept the unit powered on for about 30 minutes, and everything appeared to be solid.
