I prep these radios if that’s what you want & its included in the price. Setup of the echo, talkback, modulation, frequency & frequency step. Power levels are checked & set if necessary. Secret engineering menu is used to turn the modulation up. When the radio leaves my bench, it’s finely tuned & all ready to rock! These radios have teriific receive & are all set to sound great on transmit, even with the supplied stock mic, which is a condenser mic (w/up/dwn ch buttons) but is also compatable w/dynamic mics (toggles in the menu). If you want a sideband radio, the one you want is the president lincoln & I have those available also. These 2 radios are the best in the market, imo and are a great value too! President Richard Radio – New – Upgraded – There’s a major shortage of these radios & many others. And Vox (voice activated) works w/any mic. Tuned & aligned well. I also set the echo tricky.. For good sound & the talkback level tricky.. I will also increase the modulation levels to loud & clear! Functions like a bass & treble control. On/off & adjustable level (I preset it). Has convenient on/off switch on the front & is fully adjustable via the programming menu. I preset it for good sound. TOT (Time Out Timer). SWR (Power Reading /SWR). When swr is selected via the menu, it gives an automatic reading of the swr, digitally, ie “1.5”, “1.0”, etc. Everytime you push any button, it beeps. This can turn that off. Also switches to PA. Also is switchable to use either an electret condenser mic (the included mic) or standard dynamic mic. USB 5V 2.1A. Right on the front.
