The main receiver is a full down conversion configuration, and by adopting a newly developed mixer and narrowband roofing filter, it achieves a performance of +40dBm class third intercept point. It has achieved the best basic reception performance in the series. In addition, it is equipped with three 32-bit floating point calculation DSPs, and the advanced technology such as unique IF AGC control realized by advanced DSP technology realizes high-dimensional reception performance that is truly required in HF equipment. The final amplifier uses a 50V drive POWER MOS FET, allowing stable operation with low distortion even at a high output of 200W. This FT-847 (serial number O1410090) is in really nice shape for it’s age. It has a few small scuffs on the cabinet, but overall I’d say it’s been well cared for over the years. This is a US version and not an import from the Japanese consumer market. It’s operating beautifully with full power output and great RX. All functions we tested work as they should.
