We took a standard XTL W9 radio and connected it to the Desk Set to replace that bulky W9 Control Head and cable. What is a Desk Set? It’s a Control Head – not a Tone Remote. Anyone in the family will know how use it. All the basic W9 Control Head functions are duplicated on the MC3000 Desk Set. Makes for a really neat Base Station set-up! That bulky W9 cable is replaced by a thin CAT-8 cable plugged into the rear Audio/Data port on the MC3000. This configuration does no t require a Digital Junction Box! Refurbished 110W drawer unit, tested and aligned, these are are for the W series W4, W5, W7 and W9 heads, drawer unit only no mount or cables etc. I have been asked several times if the W3 HHCH head will work on these radios, well yes and no…. The interface boards on these radios do not have the power switching circuitry to allow the power button on the HHCH to work, the HP W3 XTL5000 is actually fairly rare, Moto wanted to sell the high dollar O3 head radios So yes the radio can be programmed for W3 and you can put a switch between pins 20-22 on the acc plug to control the power, or a relay for ign. Control, this is the ONLY way I recommend this is done, feeding power into the acc. You will be pleased with this radio, more importantly your customer will be pleased with this radio.
