This band has been called the “new 440″. These are great 30 watt, conventional channel 900 MHz radios! One of the finest 900 MHz radios ever constructed! Built like a tank! No need to change the front end filters or modify the VCO in this radio as the competition! These are “SYSTEM” control unit models. This listing is for a Ten Tec Orion 2 Orion II Model 566 HF HAM RADIO Transceiver. It cannot be made to operate on any non-ham frequency or band for which it was not originally intended. The serial number is 06C10115. At some point in the production run, Ten Tec began metal coating the inner surface of the front panel to improve the shielding of the radio from outside RFI sources. This radio has that improved front panel. It is the only one I have ever seen with this improvement. This radio does NOT have the built in automatic antenna tuner. This radio is good to very good with some nicks on it. I found a very good case set and this looks really nice. Operationally it is as is is specified, producing 100 watts output. Both receivers work very well. All pushbuttons are tested and working fine. The display is perfect. The A9 power supply board has had the capacitor replacement service completed (all of them, not just the “heavy hitters”). I replaced all six of the small function encoders with fresh Bournes replacements. These have a much better feel than the old ones, with detent operation as you turn them. The one exception is the “Multi” encoder, which is indeed a fresh one but I removed the detent feature from this encoder so that your resolution in operation is the same as factory original. The pushbuttons on these encoders work the same as originals and all work fine. The CPU backup battery has been replaced a few weeks ago. This comes with the original Ten Tec hand mike. It also comes with the power connect cable. This will come to you in the original factory box with most of the packing. I will use additional packing to ensure safe transport. The 1.8 KHz narrow SSB filter is included. NO OTHERS WILL BE RECEIVED. Has all the filters everything works fine just like it should but the display has a line down in the bottom look at picture. Picture of it it shows it pretty good you can repair it or do like I do. It doesnt bother me at all down there and I actually sort of like it for low noise sorta like a floor. This radio works as it should no problems. Been replaced the battery also should be good to go for a few years. Comes with power cord and the owners manual. Oh I forgot has autotune also thanks.
