Perfect for portable HF……. The SG-2020 covers all HF frequencies from 1.8 to 30 Mhz. It is factory-set for 20 watts PEP with front panel power adjustments down to 1W using USB or LSB. There are 20 factory pre-programmed memories preset to frequencies within each of the nine amateur bands for fast band accessibility. Each memory position can be selected for a specific transmitter output power, specific amount of bandwidth filtering, mode and split VFO. The memory channels can be re-programmed to accommodate alternate frequencies of your choice within the frequency range and a simple unlock procedure allows you to choose any HF frequency worldwide. This radio has a factory installed ADSP2 noise-canceling module. The ADSP2 was the last revision. SG-2020 radios with the ADSP2 are very hard to find. This rig has a pair of GE 6146B finals that have been individualy tested and easily generate up to 100 watts out to a 50-ohm dummy load; slightly less on 10 meters- typical of the hybrids. Audio on receive is good too. It DOES have the optional CW filter. I checked the driver, the 12BY7, and it tests “good”. I tested it on all bands both in receive and tune; it receives and it transmits on all bands. The pilot lamps over the s-meter and tuning dial light up. The power cord is original. The VFO shorting plug is a replacement- one that I make myself with my 3-D printer. Cosmetically, the cover and bezel show typical, minor scratches. The side cover is original, although the plastic latches are new from those that I stock. The carrying handle is original and sturdy. There is no microphone nor manual included. Manuals can be downloaded from several sources for free on-line. It does include the original power cord. The digital readout is bright and clear. Cosmetically, the cabint shows typical minor scratches; the entire cabinet has been repainted and is a close match to the original Kenwood gray.
