My antenna only allows me to operate 10-40m and VHF/UHF. So I have never used it on 6, 60, 80, 160m. Overall it is in very good condition and comes with quite a few accessories. This is a complete ready to go station for all of your needs, just add your antenna. I have never taken this setup portable, it has just been sitting on my desk for the majority of the time. This is not the D model of the FT-897, but it does have the TCXO chip installed, and has been MARS/CAP modified (by previous owner) so it can transmit on 60 Meter band (The TCXO and 60m Transmit were the difference between the D and non-D models). I normally run no more than 25 watts except for when running SSB or RTTY. Included are the following. My friend took exceptional care of his equipment and this is no exception! A Yaesu FT-897 HF/UHF/VHF all mode transceiver. With the LDG-897 Plus antenna tuner, plus external analog meter pwr/swr etc. And the VS CD-24 Battery Charger and both internal batteries. One issue some folks had with this radio is that “vertical lines” developed on the LCD display. So I took it to the Yaesu factory repair center and had the LCD replaced and the radio completely checked out by the factory technicians. Not only that I have hooked it up in my shack and thoroughly tested it. The radio and tuner look and. Works great (see photos). One item to note is that although both of the internal batteries are included only one properly takes a charge. They are made to be replaced when they get old so replacement is simple. Obviously this is not an issue if your are planning to use a 13.8V external power supply. What you will get. LDG 897 Plus automatic antenna tuner (with cable). External Analog Meter for SWR/PWR etc. VS CD-24 Rapid Charger. Yaesu MH-31 Dynamic Microphone. Power cable with Power Pole connectors. Thanks for looking Bill. In digging a little deeper in my friends stuff I found the MH-59 DTMF Mic. It was not hooked to the radio and looks like new!
