Yaesu FT-840 Ham Radio HF Transceiver. I used this transceiver for several years before switching to a Kenwood TS-480HX. Since then, it has been in a closet in a non-smoking home and my wife is pressing me to get rid of my unused collection of ham gear. Accordingly, I have priced it to sell. The radio is in nice condition with only minor cabinet blemishes, which include a couple of scuffs on the main tuning dial being the only ones that are particularly noticeable (see front photo). The FT-840 would be a great HF rig for a new ham or a spare rig. I was unable to locate the microphone but the radio requires standard Yaesu 8 pin connector. The receiver is particularly good, and was used for both ham operation and SWL reception. These are the FT-840’s features as provided by Yaesu. 0.1-30 MHz Receive. Two direct digital synthesizers. The digitally synthesized local signals ensure clean, low-noise transmitter output on HF amateur bands. Backlit 10 Hz LCD. IF shift, reverse CW, dual VFOs, 100 memories, attenuator, noise blanker, meter, scan modes and speech processor. Only 9.5 x 3.7 x 7 inches.
