Picture a series of ocean waves; the shorter the length of each wave, the more frequently you will see the peaks of those waves. Radio transmission has always required an FCC license. In the 1970s, the FCC set aside a band for citizens, and that was the 11 meter band. It’s called the Citizens Band, thus CB. We always capitalize CB because it is an abbreviation (for Citizens Band, which is a proper name as well). This band is limited to 4 watts. This is not a CB.
