Uniden President HR-2600 10/11/12 Meter Ham Radio W/ Chipswitch Tested Working! Includes original microphone, power cord, and acc’y jumper. No mounting bracket or manual. Besides having a socketed Chipswitch IC, must have mods done to PLL PCB, since it transmits from 24.800 to 29.999. Connected G5RV (wire antenna) this morning, and on 11 meters stations from southern states and California were booming in full scale. On 10 meters, I was listening to a station in Austria. When I was checking transmit, I found there was no audio. I found the mic element was open. Replaced with identical element from another Uniden mic, and now works fine. I see about 30 watts on SSB, with my Bird 43 wattmeter, with peak reading board. Note: Bird wattmeter and test cables not included. All controls and pushbuttons appear to be operating properly. With band 4 selected, the up/down buttons let you select the 40 channels on 11 meters. Chipswitch operation information can be found on the web, if needed. The previous owner painted the pushbuttons with different colors. I’m not sure if that was to help with Chipswitch features? I experimented, slightly, with an alcohol wipe, and was getting paint off of a pushbutton. Probably Q-tips, and high strength alcohol would work better, if you wanted to remove the paint.
