Here’s a very clean, all-mode Yaesu FT-897D base-station/mobile transceiver. What a great shack in a box radio covers HF to 440 MHz. It’s just great for portable, mobile, and home use, an all-in-one radio. This one works as it should and you will find absolutely no issues with the rig. This has been my back-up radio and was mostly used once a week to check into our local ten meter net. I have always had great reports on the transmit audio. This is the newer “D” model which includes two upgrades compared to the plain FT-897: i high stability TCXO temperature controlled frequency reference source, and ii transmit capability on the relatively recently FCC approved five 60m (5 MHz) ssb channels. The DSP and easy of adjustment makes this rig a pleasure to listen to. Cosmetic condition is excellent, really immaculate is not too strong a word. This one has been babied and spent much of its time covered when not in use. I’ve had a lot of rigs pass through the shack in the last 40+ years, and this is one of the nicest.
