Up for sale is a Good, Used Condition Kenwood TS-940S Kenwood HF Transceiver, with Automatic Antenna Tuner, and PIEXX Electronics Serial Data Board. Radio was used by me personally, for about 18 years. Radio works Great, except for one issue. That issue is, when Unplugged, and then powered up, the secondary display will not always come on. If you cycle power again, it will come on, and work properly. The radio works even upon power up, if the secondary display does not come on. The Radio does not have the common PLL Unlock/Dots in the display problem. Other than the secondary display not coming on on the first power up, the radio works flawlessly, with over 100 watts on each band. According to web search, the secondary display can be caused by a bad CMOS Back up Battery. The Internal antenna tuner works wonderfully, as well as the PIEXX Serial communication board. This board allows you to interface to a computer, for full computer control with Ham Radio Deluxe, and other rig control packages. Radio has normal wear and tear for a 33 year old radio. There are some scratches, and a few small rust spots on the left side, where a cleaner wrinkled the paint a little. I would say this radio is on Excellent condition for its age, and works great, minus the secondary screen issue. All lamps, and bulbs for the display are good. Side Carry Handle, is greater, along with the sliding top cover that covers the VOX and CW Controls. This will make soomeone a great radio.
