I found this nice little Kenwood at a sale, cleaned all pots and switches with Deoxit to get rid of the slightly scratchy sounding controls and have used it for SWL listening only for several months because I did not have my general license or a 40 meter antenna yet. The pictures show where it lives, its friends and some of the work I did on it. Now that I do I have just toooo many radios and must thin out the crowd, lol. This radio put out about 100 watts into a dummy load after I slowly brought up the power from 80 watts to about 100 watts as seen on the pictures, voice and CW sounded great on another receiver I have. It comes with a power cord and original Kenwood microphone with up and down frequency buttons. A great extra on this model Kenwood is it has a Full Coverage receiver from broadcast band to 29.999 MHz which you do not find on very many older radios, usually they only have the ham bands. The display is bright and clear but some times the 1/10 reading numeral flickers back and forth a little bit. This does NOT interfere with tuning to any frequency and the up and down buttons on the mike work perfectly to change frequencies. The S-meter light is out but meter works perfectly. The following link is to a You Tube video of my station and where this radio lives, then me cleaning and powering up the radio so you can have a much better idea of what’s inside and what I did to it. Also use Google or the You Tube search box when you copy and paste as Bing will not work properly.
