I did a few bench tests on this rig, and here’s what I saw. The synthesizer works across all ranges and bands – no issues seen. TX power measured 100W on all bands, except 10m, where I saw about 50W. RX sensitivity met the. 25 uV spec sometimes in some bands. It seemed intermittent, related to the band switch as near as I could tell. Sometimes the sensitivity would drop by >20 dB. Other times it met spec. The RIT switch feels mushy – assume it’s broken. Other controls seem fine. The meter works, but I don’t think the selector switch is operating properly – seems stuck in ALC mode? Hooking it to a short wire, I was able to copy 40m SSB and CW traffic. Doesn’t stink of cigarette smoke (or anything else). Decently clean and unmolested. The IC-701PS power supply is included. NO other accessories are included in this sale (IC-SM2 mic will be listed in a separate sale). No microphone is included in this sale. The IC-701PS has a broken strain relief for the DC cable. The power supply seems to work fine – I used it to test the rig on the bench and didn’t notice any issues. So, assume the rig needs some work, but is complete and basically working.
