Yaesu FT-747GX HF Transceiver – with original microphone and power cord. I’ve owned and used this radio for 15 years. During that time, I’ve made contacts around the world with it. The radio will transmit on 160m through 10m. The previous owner bought it new in the 1980s. This was my first HF rig. The radio is in excellent shape considering it is nearing 35 years of age. It does not have an automatic keyer built in, so you will need to use a bug or straight key unless you have an alternative method of keying the rig on cw. I believe the rig does have a Collins narrow filter for cw. When you use the narrow filter function, it really helps you hear through pile ups. Currently, USB and CW are solid on the rig. The rig’s ceramic potentiometer for lower sideband adjustments has some oxidation on it, which causes it to drift somewhat on lower sideband. The fix for this is very simple and only requires some de-ox-it and a small screw driver. By adjusting the potentiometer and spraying some de-ox-it on it, you’ll stop the drifting issue. You will have to do this every five years or so. I decided it wasn’t worth sending back to Yaesu to get new pots put in, so I’ve just used de-ox-it for the past 15 years. This is an excellent starter HF rig. The finals in the radio are very beefy and it is very forgiving. The radio comes with its original power cord and microphone.
