Yaesu FT-818 HF/VHF/UHF All Mode QRP Transceiver with 300KHz CW Filter
Yaesu FT-818 HF/VHF/UHF All Mode QRP Transceiver with 300Hz CW Filter. It was only used indoors for a short while and as a result it’s in very good condition. It comes from a non-smoking environment. This is still a current product and can be seen at the Yaesu web site. It’s encouraged that you visit this site and be sure this the radio you wish to acquire. Also note, this is a low power QRP radio with an internal battery. Even though the battery has been upgraded from the older FT-817 model, it doesn’t last too long. Therefore, an external battery is highly recommended for field operations. I used a 7AH Gel Cell for example. I did modify the DC cable with Anderson Power Poles in the ARES configuration. You can remove these and return it to the original non-terminated state if you wish. However, if you do use the Anderson Power Poles, be sure your power source is wired to the same polarity. Otherwise, damage may occur to the radio and possibly your power source. Also included and installed is a Yaesu 300Hz CW filter. To use this filter, you have to be in the CW mode of course. Also, menu item 38 (OP FILTER) must be set to CW. Then the (NAR) option must be selected for the A, B, C key items. Once selected, it must be turned on to activate the CW filter. It’s a very narrow filter and seems to work best with crowded signals. Otherwise, you may just want to turn off the (NAR) option and listen to hear more than this very narrow bandwidth. Additionally, the Yaesu vinyl case is included. The “Best Offer” option is not set-up for this item. NOTE : The original product box and materials are not included. However, it will be well packaged and protected to assure a safe arrival. Please Note the Following Sales Conditions.
