NOTE: The pictures of the display turned on do NOT have the mod kit installed, the mod kit is NEW and separate for you to install should you desire to do so. Display works well, it was bright enough for me but you may want to install the mod kit so it will be brighter and start right away as you can now eliminate the inverter unit and do away with slow slow starts for the display which are so common to the FT-1000MP series radios. This display will last a Long time. A CD is included with instructions on how to remove cabinets to get to the display in your radio and install the backlight mod. It shows how to disassemble the Yaesu FT-1000MP Mark V 200W (you don’t instruction for the Plain or Field as it is simple to remove the top and bottom covers). You need to have a little technical skill to do the mod (accessing and removing the display, a little soldering etc). You will get the display as pictured (no front panel or radio, radio just there to show display working).
